BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Incoming interim Boston Superintendent of Schools Laura Perille spoke to WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Thursday, saying she is fully aware of the problems facing the city's public schools and outlining her goals for trying to fix them.

"I don't think anyone who works in and around the Boston Public Schools denies that there are challenges and places where the work is too uneven and needs to accellerate for the benefit of all children," she said. "I will be the first to say that transparently, that is why I'm taking this position. That is why I'm eager to work with everyone here to see if we can approach some long-standing problems differently."

Perille is CEO and President of EdVestors. She has been a Boston Public School parent for sixteen years, and has spent 20 years working in and around different aspects of the Boston Public School System.
