NWS Confirms EF0 Tornado In Woods Hole

BOSTON, Mass. (WBZ-AM) -- The National Weather Service says that a weak EF-0 Tornado that made landfall in Woods Hole, MA Monday morning.

A post-storm survey concluded that a waterspout in the Vineyard sound came ashore as severe weather passed through the area. Then quickly dissipated. 

They say that eyewitness reports at the Woods Hole Golf Club say that four large wooden chairs were brought into the air and swirled around. They were thrown 500 yards away onto a tennis court. 

There were no other damage or reported injuries. They say at the same time two nearby weather stations reported wind gusts at 56 mph and 60 mph.
