BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Every Thursday morning, Emily Tebbetts leads an hour-long nature walk for queer and trans neighbors through the Arnold Arboretum in Boston, helping others get back in touch with the great outdoors.

Tebbetts told WBZ's James Rojas that the walks serve participants of all ages to bring a moment of tranquility.

"It's been a really nice way of connecting with the community, especially the queer community, we often have a pretty intergenerational presence and that's something that's been exciting. I really hope that it's a space where people can come and be supported and be intentional about what's important to them to leave with that day," Tebbetts said.

Tebbetts has been hosting these strolls since early spring, giving many a chance to meet others in the community.

"They have been such a lovely facilitator, and really they're a beautiful holder of community space, they bring a flexibility to it as well that helps it be whatever it needs to be on that given day," participant Henry Garrison-Deesany said.
