Man Arrested After Crews Extinguish Holden House Fire

HOLDEN, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - A man is in custody and facing charges after allegedly intentionally setting a home on fire in Holden earlier this week.

Fire officials responded to the area of 25 Juniper Lane on Tuesday evening just after 7:30 p.m. Flames were shooting from the basement and first floor and officials brought in mutual aid to assist.

The blaze was contained in about two hours with the help from a number of other departments including; Boylston, Leicester, Paxton, Rutland, Sterling, West Boylston and Worcester firefighters.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set in an attached garage and spread to the rest of the home. Two people were evaluated and treated on scene.

No word on the exact charges the male suspect in facing. He's expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
