ACTON, Mass (WBZNewsRadio) - Authorities in Acton are on the look out for a man who allegedly followed a woman as she walked home from the South Acton MBTA station.

The incident happened on Central Street, Wednesday, June 14, around 10:20 p.m.

When the woman noticed she was being followed in the dark by a stranger, she went to the front door of a neighbor's home to get help. The homeowner told the man that he was calling the police, that's when he then got into a dark-colored sedan style vehicle and drove off.

"It does not appear that any laws were broken during this incident, but a resident was in a great deal of fear and we would like to identify the other individual involved in this incident in an effort to determine what his intentions were," said Police Chief James Cogan. "I would also like to notify the community of this incident in case there have been any other instances of this occurring that have not been reported."

Anyone with information is asked to call Acton Police at 978-929-7711.
