BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts is nearing 97,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, after an additional 664 cases were reported by the state Department of Public Health on Sunday.
Middlesex County has the highest number of confirmed positive cases in the state with more than 21,000, followed by Suffolk County with nearly 18,000 cases, Essex County with more than 14,000 cases, and Worcester County with around 11,000 cases.
An additional 78 deaths attributed to the virus on Sunday also brought the state's coronavirus-related death toll to 6,846.
There have been nearly 593,000 coronavirus tests conducted so far in the Commonwealth.
