BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics President Brad Stevens says Coach Joe Mazzulla is staying in Boston. After an up-and-down Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat ended in a crushing Game 7 loss at TD Garden, some speculated that Mazzulla might lose his job.

The Celtics put those rumors to bed on Thursday.

"Was he perfect? Would he like to have some moments back? Every coach would," Stevens said in a press conference at the Auerbach Center. Mazzulla stepped in at coach after Ime Udoka was suddenly suspended days before the C's 2022-2023 season began. He led the team to a 57-25 regular season record.

"He's a terrific leader. He'll only get better at anything he can learn from this year. And he's accountable," Stevens said.
