CHELSEA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio 1030) — Officials say there’s been another Covid outbreak at the Chelsea Veterans Home, the same facility where 31 people died from an outbreak early in the pandemic.

Veteran’s Services Secretary Jon Santiago said more than a dozen residents and a number of staffers at the state-run residential facility for veterans have tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s believed this latest outbreak is from a recreational event that was held on May 28th.

A rapid response team was sent in Friday to support the staff, universal masking has been implemented, and clinical staff are getting tested daily.
