First Coronavirus Case In Worcester Confirmed

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Worcester officials have confirmed the first case of coronavirus.

According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, City Manager Edward M. Augustus said at a press conference on Saturday the case is related to the spread of COVID-19 at the Biogen Conference in Boston, which has accounted for at least 70 case out of the 123 currently confirmed cases in Massachusetts.

Augustus also said five more people are being tested for coronavirus in the city and are awaiting their results.
