NEWTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Newton are telling people to lock their doors and windows after they discovered what looks like a triple-homicide in Nonantum.

Police said they got a call at about 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, reporting the deaths. Police said the three elderly victims appeared to have been stabbed and beaten to death. The Middlesex County D.A. said the home had signs of forced entry.

Officials noted a break-in at Brookside Avenue about a half-mile away might be connected. No arrests have been made, and Newton Police have not made any suspects public.

The victims have still not been identified almost a full day after the crime was reported.
