BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Three teenage Boston Public Schools students were placed under arrest on Monday for allegedly attacking a transit police officer positioned at the Forest Hills station.

According to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Transit Police, the victim officer had told 40 to 50 youths loitering inside the Forest Hills station to clear out when the group began kicking and punching him. The officer fell to the ground where the group of adolescents allegedly continued to beat and drag him. Nearby TPD officers called for reinforcements from their own department along with the Boston Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.

Preliminary investigation led to the arrest of three teenage girls, all were charged with Assault Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Police Officer. The TPD says more suspects could be placed under arrest down the line of the investigation.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said the three students were then released on personal recognizance on Tuesday, under the condition they stay away from the Forest Hills MBTA station, kept away from each other, and practiced home confinement with the exception of attending school.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on December 16 for a probable cause hearing.
