BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is heartbroken about the closure of a Kenmore Square favorite, Eastern Standard.
The congresswoman graduated from Boston University in 2011. The New York Democrat took to Twitter to mourn the loss of the restaurant’s shutdown.
Boston Restaurant Talk reported that Eastern Standard along with sister restaurants Island Creek Oyster Bar and the Hawthorn were closing for good.
These three restaurants are just a fraction of restaurants that were forced to shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Eastern Standard opened in 2005 and was located in the Hotel Commonwealth.
