EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Steward Medical Group is offering to help pick up some slack in the wake of the sudden closure of Compass Medical on the South Shore.

Compass was required to pay Steward $16 million after a lawsuit in October. Steward has denied responsibility for making the smaller Compass Medical go belly-up on Wednesday, according to WBZ-TV.

Steward is now giving out a number for former Compass patients to help them find a new primary care doctor: 508-630-7280.

The company is also hosting job fairs for workers that may have been laid off when Compass Medical shuttered, found here.
