MEDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Monday, Tufts University received another bomb threat, the third of its kind within the last week— officials have since searched the affected buildings and found no threat.

TU President Tony Monaco issued a statement later in the afternoon, addressing the series of threats that have been posed against the school as of late. Monaco said that all campuses will see an increased security presence while agencies at multiple levels investigate the threats.

The president says several of the threats included language that antagonizes the university's values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), though investigators say those may not be the direct causes of the threats. No bombs or suspicious objects have been found, officials said.

Officials are encouraging those affected by the threats to reach out to the school's mental health resources for help.

Students and staff in the following buildings were told to evacuate, but are now clear to resume normal operations:

  • Lewis Hall
  • Haskell Hall
  • Metcalf Hall
  • Kappa Alpha Theta
  • Barnum Hall
  • Houston Hall

The school also issued alerts on Wednesday and Tuesday of last week for bomb threats against the campus. Tufts also received a threat on Friday that was designated as a "security threat."
