Red Sox Are Best Team In Majors

At 15-2, the Red Sox are off to their best start ever. In fact, they're the fifth team in American League history to start so well and the first in the majors since the 2003 Giants.

JD Martinez went 4-for-5 in last night's 9-0 shutout of the Angels, with his fourth home run and 14th RBI.

"Honestly I didn't even know we were that... 15-2... I don't think anybody in here is really paying any attention to that," Martinez said. "That's kinda the feel in the clubhouse - everyone is just going out there. It feels almost like it's spring training and everyone's just kinda loose, havin' fun, jokin' around."

The slugger said it's too early to call Boston the best team in the majors since it's only April - not July.

But, the Sox have the best record, the best offense, the second-best pitching staff, the best rotation, and the best defense.

And that's with Dustin Pedroia, Xander Bogaerts, Drew Pomeranz, Steven Wright, and Tyler Thornburg on the disabled list.

Sure, it's mid-April, but the Red Sox are the best. It's a fact. And, unfortunately for them, they're being overshadowed by two local teams in the playoffs and another that's not even playing right now but has a whole lot of drama.

Don't worry, Sox. You'll have the summer.
