BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) A popular cold remedy company took a page out of Paul Revere’s playbook on Friday, telling Bostonians that their cold is coming.

Zicam set up on Boston Common in a booth that looked like an colonial apothecary shop, manned by staff dressed as Revolutionary War soldiers.

“This immersive colonial-style pop-up will rally Bostonians to prepare for battle against early cold symptoms,” read the promotion for the event.

The set up even included a midnight rider on a horse, but instead of warning that “The British are coming,” he warned “Your cold is coming!”

“It’s colder outside, everyone’s staying inside more, passing those colds around,” said Emily Martin, a senior marketing associate with Zicam.

Workers at the booth handed out packets of Zicam’s Cold Remedy RapidMelts + Nighttime Combo Pack, along with hot apple cider.
