EDGARTOWN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Updated at 5:43 p.m.
State Police have now identified the missing paddle boarder that was found dead on Monday morning.
Police said the man has been identified as 45-year-old Tafari Campbell of Virginia. Campbell was employed as former President Obama's long-term sous chef. He was visiting Martha's Vineyard at the time of the incident, officials said.
"President and Mrs. Obama were not present at the residence at the time of the accident," State Police said.
Crews found Campbell's body in Edgartown Great Pond shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday morning.
He had been missing since Sunday evening around 8 p.m. when Martha's Vineyard Police got word that a man had gone into the water and struggled to stay on the surface before submerging.

Divers were able to find the man after Massachusetts Environmental Police Officers deployed side-scan sonar from a boat. His body was found about 100 feet from shore.
