BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) — A Boston City Councilor was involved in a crash that sent her and her son to the hospital on Friday.
Councilor Kendra Lara and her 7-year-old son Zaire were involved in a crash near the Monument in Jamaica Plain, the councilor's chief of staff confirmed to WBZ NewsRadio.
Zaire was transported to Boston Children's Hospital after the incident where he received several stitches.
"It was a scary situation for everyone involved but thankfully Councilor Lara and Zaire are expected to make a full recovery," said Councilor Lara's chief of staff.
Boston Police got reports of an accident with injuries at 803 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, an accident report with redacted names confirmed.

Boston Police said the woman operating the vehicle was driving with a revoked license, the vehicle was unregistered with no insurance, and the inspection sticker was expired.
The child was also not in a booster seat at the time, violating the law, police said.
When police got to the scene, they discovered a vehicle "inside the home's left side." The vehicle went through a metal fence outside the house and drove over bushes before crashing into the left side of the porch causing significant damages to the property, police said.
The driver told police she was driving on Centre Street when she had to swerve to avoid hitting a gray 2015 Honda CRV pulling onto the road and couldn't hit the brake fast enough. The driver of the Honda told officers he was "barely out of the parking spot" and "barely in motion" when he saw a car driving fast behind him. He said he was not close to hitting the car and believed the other vehicle was speeding when they swerved out of the way.
