BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston city officials are remembering the Boston Marathon bombings today on the 10-year anniversary.

Mayor Michelle Wu and Governor Healey gathered at the Boston Marathon bombing sites on Boylston Street alongside victims and their families to honor the five that lost their lives.

Ginny Hammond of Laconia, New Hampshire, attended Saturday morning's ceremony. She participated in a long moment of silence at both of the memorial sites.

"The moving ceremony just shook your heart a little bit," she said. "I was here the day that happened."

Hammond was at mile 25 cheering on her daughter running in the Boston Marathon when the bombs went off.

"But the next thing was to find our daughter... it was just awful, and we did and she was okay and I never ever want to go through that again," Hammond said.

The city is also honoring One Boston Day by asking Bostonians to share acts of kindness.
