FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ice cream lovers gathered at Patriot Place on Friday for an all-you-can-eat ice cream feast.
The Jimmy Fund kicked off its annual Scooper Bowl on Friday for two days of ice cream eating and fundraising.
"Somebody told me there were 40 tons of ice cream," one woman told WBZ's Suzanne Sausville.
The Jimmy Fund hopes to raise $250,000 at this year's event for cancer research.
There are 35 flavors from nine ice cream vendors at the event.

When attendees are not shoveling ice cream into their mouths they can listen to live music and play games. There is also a happy hour for adults from 5 to 8 p.m. that allows them two drinks with their tickets.
Scoop at Night for Friday has been canceled due to the weather. Scoop at Night has been rescheduled to Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Anyone with unused tickets from Friday before it closed can use them on Saturday.
Scooper Bowl is the nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival and a New England tradition. The event has raised more than $7 million to support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
