BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An airline pilot was mistakenly interrogated by federal agents after they broke into the wrong hotel room in the Revere Hotel early Wednesday morning.

WBZ I-Team sources said federal agents, including the FBI, were conducting a mock investigation and barged into the Delta Air Lines pilot's room.

WBZ TV Chief Investigative Reporter Cheryl Fiandaca says the pilot, who's in his 30s, was sleeping when it happened, "He opened the door, agents barged in, they handcuffed him... they interrogated him and put him in the shower."

It took over 45 minutes before the agents realized their mistake, took the handcuffs off, and apologized.

"Why they were in a hotel with civilians and why they were conducting an investigation and a mock interrogation in a hotel filled with guests or whether or not the hotel knew, we don't yet know those answers just yet," said Fiandaca.

The pilot refused treatment from emergency services. He said he is not commenting at this time.
