FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One Framingham man found a way to combine his passions with the art of ventriloquism.

Kevin Driscoll left his high-paying job in tech behind to do ventriloquism full-time in 2017.

"Birthday parties, boy scouts, anniversary parties, corporate entertainment combine all my three skills... music, ventriloquism, and education, I get to do it all at the same time and I'm so blessed," Driscoll said.

He is known as the Santa Ventriloquist. During the season, he dresses up in a Santa suit with puppet Doug the hound dog by his side. Kevin and Doug make jokes, talk, and sing.

Driscoll has 23 puppets that he uses to entertain at parties, senior centers, and corporate events. During the pandemic, he started doing virtual performances as well.

"I have these corporate clients, I was doing the entertainment for their virtual meetings, come in and do five minutes of just levity. To me the pandemic was a blessing, now I can entertain people all over the world," he said.

Driscoll said the power of the internet helped him expand his business and help bring joy to people outside of Framingham as well.
