"He Was Pecking At The Door": Tales Of Turkey Terror In Woburn

WOBURN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One neighborhood in Woburn is having problems with a hot-headed group terrorizing the community... a flock of turkeys.

WBZ's Matt Shearer is there running from one particularly angry turkey.

"Me and my girlfriend were in the house, we couldn't get out, he was pecking at the door," Dana from Woburn told Matt about one of her turkey encounters.

Dana's neighbor has also been bullied into staying home by the aggressive wild turkeys.

"They won't let you out of your car sometimes huh," Mary said to her granddaughter Mckenzie who agreed saying, "Yeah, they don't care." A flock of turkeys live in front of her house and attack her often, she said. They come out around sunset to enforce their reign of terror on her lawn.

One resident told Matt her children are scared to take the bus to school, fearing the turkeys will be at the bus stop. The community has found one way to keep the ferocious fowl away, using umbrellas. Residents have found holding an open umbrella out deters the turkeys from coming any closer.

If you are headed to Woburn... don't forget your umbrella.
