CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Is the Roman Empire on your mind a lot? Some people say it is.

WBZ's Kyle Bray is in Cambridge asking some of the brightest scholars how often they think about the ancient empire.

The trend started on TikTok when people started asking their friends how often they think about the Roman Empire and to their surprise... it was a lot.

"Once a month I would say, as of late it's been more of a daily occurrence," one Harvard student WBZ's Kyle Bray. Another student said, "I'd say probably every day... twice on Sundays."

While some Cambridge residents admitted to thinking about it often, most said it's not on their mind all that much.

"I think the most I've thought about it was when I was reading the "Percy Jackson" series in middle school," one woman told WBZ's Kyle Bray.

"Hardly ever, I guess maybe when I was taking my Latin class in high school," another student said.

The trend has started a new trend online of people discussing their own "personal Roman Empire," meaning their own daily obsessions.

"There is a cat that roams the streets here, I think about that cat quite often because I'm afraid of cats," one woman said was her person Roman Empire.
