BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Hyde Park skunk is saved from a jar of peanut butter thanks to one Boston woman.

On Tuesday morning, Jess Madden-Fuoco's daughter was looking outside when she noticed a skunk that appeared to have a jar of peanut butter stuck on its head. The skunk was walking in circles on the sidewalk in front of her neighbor's house.

Madden-Fuoco said she called animal control and was waiting for them to come while she was getting ready for work when she saw her neighbor, Stephanie, step outside to walk her kid to school.

She told her child to wait on the corner and ran across the street towards the skunk. The skunk tried to get away from Stephanie by going through a fence but she managed to reach over it and grab the jar off its head.

"I was feeling so bad for the skunk but very worried about approaching it myself! I was so grateful for Stephanie’s quick thinking and brave action!" Madden-Fuoco said.

Luckily Stephanie didn't get sprayed.
