JEFFERSON, New Hampshire (WBZ NewsRadio) — An employee at Santa's Village theme park was seriously injured on an amusement park ride on Saturday, according to the New Hampshire Fire Marshal's Office.
The 51-year-old victim suddenly fell off a platform while the roller coaster was in motion. The employee victim suffered serious injuries from the incident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Fire Safety is investigating the incident.
Santa's Village has several holiday themed roller coasters, bumper cars, a tower drop ride, a Ferris wheel, a log flume, and several other rides.

Tramway and Amusement Ride Safety Department investigators are doing ride inspections at the park and investigating safety concerns. The department oversees the registration, inspection, and compliance of any mechanical rides in the state with the laws and safe operating procedures, according to the New Hampshire Department of Safety.
The Division of Fire Safety is required to inspect all amusement park rides in New Hampshire at least once a year. All mechanical rides must be registered and pass inspection before they can operate.
Officials have not released further information regarding the investigation.
