BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Spotted! The South Coast bear turned local media sensation was seen taking a break from its adventure on Thursday to cool off.

Linguiça, the black bear making its way along the South Coast of Massachusetts, was seen jumping off a dock in Marion and going for a swim.

"Ugh is he getting in the ocean?" one boater commented while watching the unusual site.

Linguiça has also been spotted in Dighton, Taunton, Fall River, Freetown, Dartmouth, and New Bedford. Local law enforcement, residents, and businesses have been taking to the internet with memes about the recently famous bear.

Marion Fire Department posted a video of Linguiça on Thursday after the bear was seen roaming around a fire truck.

"We are [taking] applications but this is at a different level. We will put him on the ladder company and give it a try," Marion Fire/ EMS joked on Facebook.

Mass Wildlife told WBZ NewsRadio they have no plans to move the bear at this time since Linguiça does not pose a high public safety threat.
