SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Donuts and mac and cheese are two classic comfort food favorites... so why not combine them? One new Somerville restaurant did just that.

Civility Social House has sold out of its signature mac and cheese donut every day since the restaurant opened this week in Assembly Row.

WBZ's Matt Shearer went to try it out... wearing his Guy Fieri wig.

"I always wanted to build a place where I could go and enjoy different types of food in a place you wouldn't hesitate to come three, four times a week and this is actually the fruition of that," Chef Chris Damian said.

First, he forms the donut and hand-cuts it. Then he breads it with panko, fries it until crispy, and sprinkles a dash of salt over it. Then he coats the mac and cheese-filled donut with a creamy cheese sauce, bacon, and scallions.

The whole cheesy concoction is then put in a skillet with chipotle barbeque sauce.
