Mass. Air National Guard Member Suspected Of Leaking Classified Documents

NORTH DIGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard suspected of leaking classified Pentagon documents over the past few months has been arrested.

On Thursday, the F.B.I. was at a home in North Dighton connected to Jack Teixeira. The 21-year-old is a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard's intelligence wing.

The New York Times reports Teixeira leads online gaming group, Thug Shaker Central, where the classified documents allegedly surfaced.

Sources told the Associated Press that the Justice Department and The F.B.I. is looking to question Teixeira in connection to the leaked military documents. Federal Investigators said the classified documents contained secret information, including intel on the war in Ukraine.

"Since late last week the FBI has aggressively pursued investigative leads, and today’s arrest exemplifies our continued commitment to identifying, pursuing, and holding accountable those who betray our country’s trust and put our national security at risk," FBI Boston said in a statement.
