Nahant Victims In Apparent Carbon Monoxide Incident Are Identified

NAHANT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Officials have identified three people who were found dead in an apparent carbon monoxide poisoning in Nahant on Monday.

On Tuesday, Essex District Attorney Paul Tucker's office revealed the three victims were relatives. They have been identified as 77 year-old John Benson, his 74 year-old sister-in-law, Youngae Benson, and 45 year-old Andrew Carruth, who was John Benson's nephew.

Nahant Police were called to 5 Cottage Street after getting a request for a well-being check on Monday night.

When officers arrived, they found three adults dead. Nahant firefighters found elevated levels of carbon monoxide inside the home.

No foul play was suspected, DA Tucker's office said.
