NAHANT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Nahant woman is calling for a two-year-old golden retriever to be extradited back to Massachusetts to be euthanized after he was sent away for biting her while doing his "business."
The golden retriever named Tucker's life is now in the hands of Nahant's dog officer after a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.
Emily Spinucci, of Nahant, said she was trying to help her neighbor, David Horrigan, after his golden retriever, Tucker, got loose. Spinochi said she saw the dog when he was squatting to do his business and when she grabbed his collar he bit her several times.
Horrigan consulted Tucker's veterinarian who said that the dog was provoked since she grabbed him in a vulnerable state.

After the biting, Horrigan sent Tucker back to his breeder in Atlanta to "do the right thing" for Spinucci.
Spinucci said she wants the dog to come back to Nahant to be euthanized and referred to Tucker as a "murderer."
"She had the best of intentions and he felt the need to protect himself so it's just not right to call the dog a murderer, it gets us away from the facts, and that prevents us from getting to the right decision," said Jeremy Cohn, Horrigan's attorney.
Spinucci told Horrigan he acted as his own judge and jury when he sent Tucker back to the breeder and she wanted him euthanized.
