New Hampshire Man Armed With Knife Fatally Shot In Their Home By Police

CONCORD, New Hampshire (WBZ NewsRadio) — A New Hampshire resident was fatally shot by a police officer responding to a call in their home on Sunday night, Attorney General John Formella announced on January 2.

Just before 10 P.M. police in Gilford, New Hampshire got reports of a resident that was armed with a knife on Varney Point Road. When police arrived, they found the resident with a knife. One officer used a Taser against the resident, while another officer shot a gun, officials said in a statement.

The resident was reportedly shot and died. Their name is not being released at this time pending notifying their next of kin, AG Formella said.

No officers were injured in the incident. AG Formella's office said that the initial responding officers were wearing body cameras.

The incident is under investigation and the police involved are not being named at this time pending formal interviews. No other information is known at this time.
