HAVERHILL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Haverhill Public Schools have canceled school on Wednesday for the third consecutive day.

"Unfortunately, it appears that the negotiation session between the Haverhill School Committee and the HEA Teachers Union has stalled out today. For that reason we are canceling school for students tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19, 2022. All food sites and childcare sites remain as in previous days," Haverhill Public Schools wrote on its website.

An Essex County Judge issued a preliminary injunction on Tuesday, ordering union leadership to stop encouraging teachers to continue striking and go back to work. The Haverhill Education Association told WBZ NewsRadio they will continue to strike until a tentative agreement is reached.
