REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One North Shore woman is helping others find love with a global plant-powered dating and friendship-finding app.

Dahlia Eisenberg of Revere is the founder of Vegpal, an app to help vegans find a community. Vegpal can be used for those trying to find love or platonic vegan friendships. She started running the app after going on several unsuccessful dates as a vegan.

"Being vegan felt very lonely for the first couple of years and I had a really hard time connecting with others who share this lifestyle," Eisenberg told WBZ's Madison Rogers.

On several occasions, she would inform her date ahead of time that she was a vegan and wanted to eat a vegan meal, but then her date would continue to order a non-vegan meal. Being vegan is a lifestyle for Eisenberg and she wants other people to be able to experience the joy of vegans connecting.

Eisenberg says many people have successfully found a partner using the app.

"There's a couple, he lived in Sweden, she lived in Barcelona and really it was almost like a love at first sight situation," Eisenberg said. "They got married four days ago and they are starting a whole new life together."

Soon, Vegpal is releasing a rebranded version of the app called Vegpal 2.0 with many new features for vegans finding plant-based love.
