BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) — Is that fog or haze we've been seeing over Boston?
WBZ's Shari Small sat down with meteorologist Kyle Pederson with the National Weather Service in Norton to get some answers.
Pederson said fog and haze do look similar to the naked eye. With a smoky sky lingering over Boston recently from the Canadian wildfires, some are concerned by the hazy-looking sky.
Pederson said it was actually a little of both on Saturday with some fog in the morning and haze later in the afternoon.

"Once the sun came up it slowly started eroding that moisture and then that's where we could actually see the haze which was more of a filtered sunshine," Pederson told WBZ's Shari Small.
The smoke in the haze tends to make the sky look more orange in color, he said. Fog is also thicker than haze.
"We got some rain coming in so it may actually cause some of that haze or smoke to come down and land on the ground with the rain washing it out," said Pederson.
