Peabody Mail Carrier Robbed At Gun Point On Veterans Memorial Drive

PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A mail carrier making his rounds in Peabody was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday, Peabody Police Department said.

At around 12:30 P.M., Peabody Police heard reports of an armed robbery on Veterans Memorial Drive. The mail carrier told police someone approached him from behind with a gun and demanded the keys to his postal boxes, according to PPD.

The man then allegedly fled the scene in a grey Honda.

Officials say the suspect is a Black man in his 20s who is approximately 5 '8". They say he was wearing a puffy black jacket and yellow hoodie with a blue face mask at the time of the incident.

The incident occurred just one month after another mail carrier fell victim to an armed robbery in Melrose. Two Somerville teenagers were charged in connection to the Melrose robbery that took place on December 10.
