BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — One building in Massachusetts is getting the spotlight for its architectural design... but that might not be a good thing.

A recent report by Buildworld named one Boston building in its top ten list of "eyesore buildings in the United States." Boston City Hall made the second spot on the list with 25.03% of Tweets regarding the building's design being critical of its appearance.

The Boston City Hall building also made the number four spot for the "ugliest buildings in the world".

The J. Edgar Hoover building in Washington, D.C. took the number one spot with 37.84% of Tweets about the building negatively discussing its design. The Verizon building in New York came in third place.

The number one "ugliest building in the world" is the Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh, Scotland, while Trump Tower in Las Vegas took the number ten spot, the report said.

In order to determine the "biggest eyesore," Buildworld focused on buildings that were previously mentioned in lists ranking the world's ugliest skyscrapers. They then searched Twitter for mentions of the buildings with keywords to focus on the public's opinion of their appearance. Using AI, they then ranked the buildings based on the percentage of negative tweets about each of them.
