ROWLEY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The body found in a burning vehicle in Rowley early Friday has been identified.

Essex County District Attorney Tucker announced that 79-year-old Susan Frey of Gloucester has been tentatively identified as the victim found inside a burning car after crashing just before 1 a.m.

Frey was the only person inside the 2003 Volkswagen Beetle when it crashed on a private driveway on Haverhill Street. Officials say the vehicle had no connection to the address.

"First responders found the car fully engulfed by fire and a single deceased occupant inside. Based on evidence found at the scene and inside Frey’s apartment, foul play is not suspected," D.A. Tucker said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is subject to confirm the identity.
