Roxbury Man Arrested For "Violently Swinging Machete" In Downtown Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston man has been arrested after allegedly swinging a dangerous weapon on the streets of downtown Boston on Tuesday night.

Just before 9 p.m., officers arrested 29-year-old Herve Masini, of Roxbury, on dangerous weapon charges. Boston Police officers said Masini was "violently swinging what appeared to be a machete" in the area of Tremont Street and Winter Street.

When officers asked him to drop his weapon he complied, police said.

Boston Police said officers recovered a machete with a 10.75-inch blade and an 8-inch grip when searching the suspect.

Masini is charged with unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court. No date has been set at this time.
