BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Shuttle buses are replacing some Green Line services starting Wednesday.
Train service on parts of the Green Line's B, E, C, and D branches will be shut down from Jan. 3 to 13 and then again for 13 days starting Jan. 16 through 28 for track work.
On the B branch, service between North Station and Babcock Street will be suspended.
Shuttle buses will be available for riders between Babcock Street and Back Bay stations. Shuttles will not stop at Blandford Street. The MBTA says riders can connect to services at BU East or Kenmore. From Back Bay, riders can take the Orange Line for service to the downtown area and North Station. There will also be free Route 57 bus service between Kenmore and Babcock Street.
On the E branch, service between North Station and Health Street will be suspended.
Riders can take the Route 39 bus for free from Heath Street station along Huntington Avenue to Back Bay Station. From Back Bay, riders can take the Orange Line for service to downtown and North Station.
On the C and D branches, service between North Station and Kenmore will be suspended.
Shuttle buses will be available between Kenmore and Back Bay stations. From Back Bay, T riders can take the Orange Line to the downtown area and North Station.
The Commuter Rail will be free for riders between South Station, Back Bay, and Lansdowne stations during the changes. Accessible vans will also be available between Kenmore and North Station.
Riders should note that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend, there will be Green Line trolley service available.
