TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) — Taunton Police are investigating a crash that left a moped driver with serious injuries on Friday morning.
Just before 6:30 a.m., police got reports of a crash involving a moped and an SUV in the area of Bay Street and the I-495 intersection. A moped and a GMC Acadia had collided near the I-495 off-ramp, first responders discovered.
A 60-year-old Taunton man was driving the moped when it crashed. He was transported by ambulance to the BJ's parking lot before being flown to a hospital via medical helicopter.

There is no word on his condition at this time.
Police said the 47-year-old Carver woman driving the GMC Acadia did not report any injuries.
Taunton Police Department's accident reconstruction unit is investigating.
