BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) - Massachusetts' younger residents put on your thinking caps.
Friday is the last day to submit snowplow names in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's 2022 Name a Snowplow Contest. Up to 12 snowplow names will be selected across the state with two being in each of the six highway districts. Winners will be chosen from two grade-level categories, kindergarten through fourth grade and fifth through eighth grade.

In addition to naming a snowplow, winners will receive a $100 gift card for school supplies. A panel of MassDOT workers will select the winners and announce them on January 12.
Snowplow contests are popular around some snowy parts of the country. Some names that have been chosen in the past include, Jennifer Snowpez, Snowbi-Gan Kenobi, William Scrapespeare, Snow Big Deal, Edgar Allan Snow, and Betty Whiteout.
