TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tyngsborough Police Department is investigating the death of a man after receiving reports of an unwanted man in a home on Friday.
Just before 5 p.m. on Friday, Tyngsborough Police received reports of an unwanted man in a home and an assault involving a firearm. Police Chief Richard Howe said the people whose home it was knew the man.
Before police arrived, the man suffered from "what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound" and was pronounced dead at the scene, Chief Howe said in a statement.

TPD said there is no danger to the public. No other information has been released. The man is not being identified at this time.
The incident is being investigated by Tyngsborough Police Department and State Police detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
