DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The stray beagle mix found badly burned in Norwood over the summer is going to be okay.
The dog, now named Annie, is on her way to recovery, according to the Animal Rescue League of Boston's Dedham branch. Annie was found in August in a parking lot along Route 1 suffering from second-degree burns on over 20 percent of her body.
Hannah Donnelly, an ARL Veterinarian, told WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe it's been a long road of recovery but Annie is healing up nicely.
"Her care involved a lot of pain control, it was very difficult in the beginning," Donnelly said.
The clinic estimates Annie is around one year old. While she still has visible scar tissue, she is not in any pain.

"Her hair started growing back probably a month ago, you can see she's really come a long way and she's completely off of all her medications," Donnelly said.
ARL said Annie is now settling into her foster care home.
"Her behavior, her attitude, everything is so much better, she's a lot more comfortable just around people and she's doing real dog things [like] playing with toys, playing with people, and figuring out life again," Donnelly said.
Annie is still fearful of strangers, but her personality is finally showing through.
