WRENTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Wrentham Police are warning residents about a new scam involving fake traffic tickets.

Police say if you get one ... fuhgetaboutit.

Residents have been receiving fake traffic violations that instruct them not to mail checks but instead pay them using a link provided.

Wrentham Police said these are completely fabricated and to delete the emails.

Police also stated if you are being threatened to pay them with arrest, imprisonment, foreclosure, torture, and claims that your family members are being held hostage that it is a scam and not to pay them.
