Two Guns Found at Charlestown High School; Two Students in Custody

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two Charlestown High School students were arrested after police found two guns at the school Thursday.

Boston Police said officers were called to the school around 10:10 a.m. though they didn't immediately say what prompted the call.

After about half an hour, the first gun was recovered and a 13-year-old student was in custody.

A second gun was later found on school premises, which led to students being dismissed for the day. A 17-year-old student was later arrested in connection with this second firearm.

Police said no shots were fired and no one was injured.

The 13-year-old student was arraigned Thursday and charged with illegal possession of a firearm not at work or home and illegal possession of ammunition. The juvenile was ordered held on $2,500 bail, with the judge also ordering home confinement and to stay away from Charlestown High School and any witnesses.

The 17-year-old student will be arraigned Friday.

An investigation is ongoing.
