Britney Spears returned to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (August 26) for her first performance at the ceremony in nine years and brought the heat for a sexy medley performance of "Make Me" and G-Eazy's "Me, Myself & I."

For the performance, Spears and her female backup dancers worked the stage with choreography straight out of her Las Vegas "Piece of Me" residency. G-Eazy appeared for his verse, but also brought along his 2015 smash, with Spears filling Bebe Rexha's duties. Spears had previously added the Glory cut to her Las Vegas residency last week, but had not performed the song with the rapper.

Prior to the performance, Larry Rudolph, the singer's longtime manager, revealed that it was Spears' decision to return to the VMA stage. "She's been on that stage many times. She hadn't wanted to do them for awhile [because] she wanted to focus on other things, but she decided she wanted to do them again so we're doing them again," he told the LA Times.
