Even though they weren't in attendance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift and ZAYN scored the Moon Person for the Best Collaboration. Now, it's been revealed that the team-up might just get some Oscar love if Universal Pictures its way.
On Thursday (September 7), The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Universal Pictures, the distributor of Fifth Shades Darker, is prepping a campaign to bring the pop titan, Malik and the song's two other collaborators (writers Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew) an Oscar nomination. "Universal is fully supportive of the song’s campaign for awards of merit consideration," a studio spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
After all, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" proved to be a substantial hit for the pair, peaking at the No. 2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100. It's worth noting that other pop hits like The Weeknd's "Earned It" from Fifty Shades of Grey and Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" from Trolls both earned some Oscar love in recent years, so it's likely.
