BOSTON (WBZ-AM) – It’s not the news some bank customers want to hear on this biggest shopping day of the year.
A number of banks reportedly experienced problems with their direct deposit system including Eastern Bank and Dedham Savings Bank Friday morning causing a big snag for some customers.
The money they were hoping to spend, may not have arrived on time.
Eastern Bank Spokesperson Paul Alexander tells WBZ NewsRadio1030, that the bank has resolved the issue.
“It appears it was an issue with our core systems provider FIS, it looks like it was a global issue, not just a local or national one,” he said.
Eastern Bank is apologizing for any inconvenience to its customers.
