BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Now that you've bought all those Black Friday deals -- it's time to mail them.
Getting all those gifts you bought to the right person requires a little patient packing.
This holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service is are asking those mailing gifts to take some time and prep to make sure what is sent gets there.
The tape. The tape is key, when packing things up, says Steve Doherty, with the U.S. Postal Service Northeast.
“We’re running in to problems with people you know stuffing canned goods into a cardboard box and sealing it with regular cellophane tape and things breaking open in route,” he said.
“So, really just packaging…depending on what you are putting in the container, unlike Julie Andrews, brown paper packages tied up in strings, are not one of the safer things,” Doherty said.
Some of the USPS favorite things? Real packing tape, strong boxes, clear labels -- and mailing plenty of time in advance of Christmas Day.
